About me

Hi, all! I'm Pumpkinate, but you can call me "PK" for short. I'm currently taking community college courses. I love giant monster movies, Metroidvania video games, alternative rock music, Greco-Roman mythology, superhero comics, and classic horror literature. I can have a very silly personality when I'm comfortable. I'm also a Christian and mostly liberal in my political views, though I try to be respectful of everyone's opinions. Halloween is my favorite holiday, so I guess Pumpkinate is a fitting username. I mostly use Listal as an outlet for making lists, but I'm starting to simultaneously publish reviews in both review and themed list format.

I'm also one of Listal's moderators, so if you need any kind of help I insist you ask and I'll see what I can do. I want to do whatever I can to make your time on Listal a fun, friendly, and rewarding experience. Of course, you can also ask Tom or one of the other several mods.

I can be found elsewhere as either "Pumpkinate" or "Squalid Pumpkin".

*Since it's become too time-consuming and I get the impression doing so isn't that important to most users, I won't continue to thank people personally for votes on most of my lists and other content. I appreciate any and all votes you guys give ever so generously. =] *

I phase in and out of my interests, and right now I'm on personal creative ventures.

Ratings
* 1 Star (Awful) - Just terrible. I have to be really put off to dislike something so much, but it happens.
* 2 Stars (Bad) - I simply didn't enjoy it. If I struggle to make things work, and it doesn't pay off, then that's the point at which it stops being fun.
* 3 Stars (Okay) - I'm torn on this one. I might take to it but be put off significantly by some blatant flaw, or I might not like it but find some saving grace in it.
* 4 Stars (Good) - A solid experience which either simply doesn't break the mold or has something somehow inhibiting it.
* 5 Stars (Great) - A uniquely fun experience which sticks to memory. If there are flaws, they're forgivable - at least in my eyes.

I don't do half-starred ratings, as that just complicates things. While I can be very critical of games and other things in my reviews, here's the gist: 5 or 4 stars, it did its job; 3 stars, nice try; 2 or 1 stars, I didn't enjoy it but don't grudge its creators too much. I do try to analyze the effectiveness of something as well as I can though.
